John Thrasher = Harry Potter

Today I was reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (the fourth installment of the 7 book series) and was thinking about how awesome he is. Harry's birthday is July 31, and I was hoping to get him a cake and everything and have a Harry Potter birthday bash. I was thinking maybe people should dress up, and that would be fun. Since I have dark brown hair, I was thinking I could be Harry. In the same thought, I thought that Brittney could be Hermione. I don't know who Ron could be, as I don't have any red-haired guy friends. But I was thinking, wait a minute, Harry has green eyes, and so do I. Then I was thinking again, and was thinking that Harry has dark hair, and so do I. Ready for the real shocker....Harry has a scar on his forehead, and I sort of do too. See I have this scar right below my right eye (see picture above for details), if you are looking at me, and Harry has his on his forehead. My scar isn't from Lord Voldemort, it's from when I was real young, and I was peeing off of my porch which was about 15 feet high, and was looking up at an airplane and lost my balance and fell off. That's how I got my scar.

So, it turns out that Harry and I have a lot in common. I have a rugby shirt that would make me look even more like him, that I will end up wearing on his birthday bash. I also need to find some Harry Potter looking glasses. If you have any idea as to where I could get those, pleas let me know, because that would be highly appreciated. :-)

Google Your Name!

As usual, I am extremely bored. I just got back from Friday After 5 with my grandparents, dad, and dad's girlfriend. I ate at City Lights, and had the almond encrusted chicken with linguine. It wasn't as good as it might sound.

Furthermore, I am very sore. The past two nights, I have played jailbreak with a bunch of people up at Fort Hill. We've started at about 10:30, or 11 each night, and played til about 1. Last night, we played til 2:00a.m. That is a long time.

So, I was bored and didn't feel like getting up and walking somewhere in the house to be more bored, so I decided to google my name. I went to "images" and then typed in my name, and low and behold, this handsome lad was the first thing that popped up! I had done it once before, and my picture that I use for this very blog used to be one of the pictures (amongst fat politicians, and birds).

Google your name, and see what special person, animal, lawn furniture, Beanie Baby, or kitchen appliance ends up being incorporated with you name!

P.S. It's actually not that fun. :(

Life in the Past Month

Well, it's obviously been a long time since I have posted on this thing (almost two months). However, I have decided (thanks to Mike over at gotzeus.com, who updates his blog regularly...which makes me very jealous) to update on what's been happening in my life the past month and a half.

I've been hanging out with people nearly every day. Rachel, Andy, Danny, Lyndsay, Kim, Jackie, Josh, Lacy, and Andrea have been my life, basically. It's been a lot of fun, and this summer has been a lot of fun so far, thanks to each of them.

There was a weird argument with a certain best friend that lasted two weeks, but just as I have said from the beginning: true friends will be the ones that you can't function without. And after two of the weirdest, non-functioning weeks of my life, I had realized that arguments over nothing lead to nothing. Thus, things are back to normal and I love it.

Rachel has me hooked on the Harry Potter franchise, or series, or empire...whichever hierarchial term one would give to this phenomenon. I remember always thinking to myself, "What's so great about the books? Why are people throwing babies over this Harry Potter rubbish?" Well, now I know. I just finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and I am in love with it. I am about half way done Chamber of Secrets, and it's a blast so far! Thank you Rachel for getting me in to this stuff because I absolutely love it.

Finally, I have not been playing much tennis. :( See what happened was I had to get my racket restrung, and I had it back for maybe two weeks, and the strings broke again. So I took it back to get strung, and they (Personal Best Athletics) had it for almost two weeks. I would call everyday and ask them if they had it done, and they would tell me, "Call back tomorrow between one and five, and someone will tell you." So I would and I never heard anything about it. Finally, two weeks after I had given the store my racket to be strung, a woman calls and tells me that she can't string my racket because there is a crack in it....

.....

.....

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I just got this racket back in March because my other racket had a mysterious crack in it as well.

So, I went to get my racket, and of couse the crack is nearly microscopic. But, I suppose any crack is enough to not be able to put pressure on the frame. So, it's been a good month since I've played a match. You can check out my tennis here.

Well, that's enough of a read for now. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Back to Chamber of Secrets!! :)
