A Look Back at 2005

2005 turned out to be not such a bad year. A lot of bad things happened, and a lot of good things happened. However, I can say with a certain amount of optimism that 2005 has set me up to make 2006 a lot better than the year before.

Here are some highlights of my version of 2005.

Exceptional Friendships - This year was a test for not only my friends but for me as well. I learned a lot about what I will tolerate in friendships, and what people will tolerate about me. One thing I learned that I don't think a lot of people will ever be able to do is to be at peace with myself and accept the fact that believe it or not, it is sometimes beneficial and "OK" to change my views. A lot of people will say, "Well this is who I am, and I am not changing for anybody." And, while this is a very bold, and usually positive statement, there are some instances where the person needs to look deeper in to his or her character and realize that there might be some things that might actually NEED to be changed to live a better life. Unfortunately, most people believe they are at a point of all-knowing, and that his or her life is the best that it can be. Admittingly, I was like that. However, after a very important argument with one of my best friends over the summer, I realized that my life can be a lot easier and less stressful if I step back and look at my options rather than saying, "I am not changing for anyone." No one is perfect, and the odds of anyone being 100% at peace with themself is too bad, because I feel there is always a need to step back and obvserve behaviors no matter where you are in life. As a result of this, I have sifted, and weeded through the people that will be with me for the rest of my life. There were many heartbreaks and arguments along the way, but now I know who the soldiers are that will help me battle through the challenges of growing up, and becoming who I am and who I will be.

Exceptional Schooling - Finally, I transferred to WVU. A lot of people didn't think I would actually do it, which made the move that much better. I am glad to be there, and can't wait to be done at the same time!

Additions to the Family - On December 21, 2005, Dayvion Antonio Coffman became my favorite (and only) newphew! Words can't express how excited I am to be a part of his life.

I may add more to this post as it comes to me!
